We did some dragon painting today too. We saw "How to Train your Dragon" on the weekend. The first painting Emery and I collaborated on. Also I used it to demonstrate some painting techniques like wet on wet, adding detail, and colour mixing. Then Emery declared he could make a dragon much scarier than mine, and he proceeded to paint his own version. I think he was right.
(As a mom and painter this is super exciting. Emery (age 5) rarely draws or paints anything representational. I love his shapes and abstract work, but it's always astounding to see how he can represent the images he sees in his head. He has such a three dimensional sensitivity. It's wonderful to watch him develop!)
